The menu selections and everything is exactly the same as from Johnny Herbert's Grand
Prix.......that is unfortunately where the similarities end.
Since I had done the grand prix game first I was really looking forward to trying out the
SuperBike as I kind of got hooked on the work that Intense did on that game. However to say
I was greatly disappointed would be an understatement. The lack of quick acceleration from
a SuperBike just killed the entertainment value for me and sadly this one will be off my
HDD in no time at all. Even with the transmission in manual it was no better.
The graphics are outstanding as in Grand prix and the AI seems to be very well done
as well. There are once again a large number of tracks and options to play with but I
never spent as much time playing with this game as I did with Grand Prix . You can once
again start in trainer mode to get the lay of the various tracks and get yourself a little
knowledge before you race against anyone. The quality of graphics for the tracks is
outstanding and very realistic I think.
This game uses the same engine as Johnny Herbert Grand Prix and the quality shows in
the graphics. If there is anything bad with this game it would have to be the cardboard
spectators and the inability to set the controls to whatever keys you wish on the keyboard
( arrow keys). Also the motorcycle does not seem to be able to turn as fast as the car did
in grand prix. I would have thought that the bike would have been quicker on the turn,
hence the lower score. When the bike slows down for a corner it takes forever to get back
up to speed. Not what one would expect for a SuperBike. The lack of any kind of
acceleration is the reason and the only reason this game gets the score it does.
SuperBike..........more like MiniBike.
I wish I could have spent more time on this review but from what I have seen this
one deserves no more time. If you are looking to purchase a motorcycle game to play I
would personally not recommend it.
If you have a voodoo2 card you will need to get the patch in order for the game to work
properly.You can grab it right
