That dark game with a satanic twist is back, and Monolith has put that old Build engine
behind to make room for their new LithTech engine-powered Blood 2: The Chosen.
In a time of turmoil and decay a dark organization with a dark purpose casts its shadow
over the world. As their cause begins to reach fruition an even greater evil pushes its
twisted being at the bindings of reality. But across a century of pain, through an army
built on hate and fear, and over the bodies of those he loved, Death has never died.
In 1998, Caleb returns. And this time he's not alone.
Features:
- Take control of any one of four characters in a dark near future reminiscent of
Blade Runner and The Crow.
- Choose from 4 playable characters, including Caleb from the original game, and
the other Chosen: Gabriella, Ishmael, and Ophelia.
- Customize your character to your hearts content, altering and upgrading
weapons, improving skills, altering physical attributes and filling out your inventory.
- Next generation 3D engine with dynamic colored lighting, true 3D environments, 3D
models, and terrain mapping allow for a totally realistic environment.
- "Motion Captured" player and monster movement for a more realistic
experience.
- A realistic and identifiable world that the player can effect. Blow up walls,
knock down buildings, scar the surfaces with explosions and bullets, and interact with
objects beyond simply collecting keys and destroying things.
- Over 30 weapons! These will include conventional weapons like a 9mm Beretta
Pistol, and Sniper Rifle. Magic weapons, like the Flayer, which rends the flesh from
its victim. Returning favorites like the flare gun and voodoo doll; and a host of new and
vicious tools of destruction including the Microwave Gun, and The Decapitator!
- Kill and be killed in more ways than any other 3D Action game. Burn, electrocute,
shoot, stab, voodoo, blow up, slowly dismember, or flay the skin from your opposition, and
expect the same treatment right back.
- Over 20 all new enemies to fight, as well as 1 returning baddie from the first
game.
- Take on up to 32 of your friends via modem, network, and internet play in
grueling Bloodbath competitions, or take on the game in cooperative play
- Full 3D accelerator hardware support for screaming frame-rates in high resolution
and color.
- Over 30 levels!
- An additional episode of 8 Bloodbath-only levels.
- In-game cut scenes throughout the game to give you a better understanding of the
story
- Full 3D sound system so you can hear those projectiles buzz past your ears. The
most gruesome sound effects in a 3D action game! Blood veterans will run in fear at
the new creations.
- Original CD audio soundtrack taking full advantage of the new Interactive Music
Architecture to create music that reacts to the situation and environment.
- Bloodbaths will include Humiliation Kills that will allow you to gloat over your
victory while your victim helplessly watches.
- Scar the world with bullet marks, scorches from explosions, and a variety of
effects from the Blood 2s vast arsenal.
- Hit Location Sensitive enemies. Shoot them in the leg and theyll
limp, shoot them in the head and theyll go down.
- Advanced AI. Enemies experience a wide variety of emotions like fear, and
anger. Enemies have a sense of self-preservation, and will use strategy such as
grouping and flanking techniques to overcome the player.
The bottom line is, Blood fans will be extremely pleased. Blood2 has an immersive
story, an awesome graphics engine, and endless possibilities when it comes to gameplay.
Deathmatch games (Bloodbaths) will allow for up to 32 players, and you can choose from 4
different characters. Each having it's own advantages and disadvantages. So keep your eyes
open for this gem, it looks like it is going to rock.
